anlaesslich der Übergabe der "T-Mobile-Stiftungsprofessur fuer
M-Commerce" an die Goethe-Universitaet Frankfurt veranstalten wir ein
internationales Symposium "Infrastruktur und Nutzung mobiler Systeme",
zu dem wir Sie hiermit herzlich einladen.
Neben Ministerpraesident Roland Koch und Dr. Steffen Roehn als Vertreter
der Stifterin T-Mobile werden sechs internationale Experten die
aktuellen Herausforderungen und Loesungsansaetze im Umfeld von Mobile

Japan's Broadband Revolution Piloted by Mobile

Development of IT resulted in a revolutionary change to the life and/or
business. Broadband is accelerating this change, and it serves as big
power which should be called Broadband Revolution. Broadband Revolution
in Japan was overdue according to monopolistic telecommunication market
structures. On the other hand, the Internet access by cellular phone has
accomplished remarkable development. The Internet access by cellular
phone deepens the mastery to the Internet, then the user start using
various applications with broadband access by wired line. Internet
access by cellular phone and broadband Internet access by wired line are
complementary, and are raising the possibilities, such as user
authentication and fee collection by fusion of infrastructures and
contents, deployment of new application, etc.
Ubiquitous Computing and the Applicabilities of Mobile Techniques

The development of the infrastructure for ubiquitous computing is
progressing rapidly, yet the applications that will be built on this new
infrastructure remain largely ill defined. We believe that the new
kinds of services will result from three primary capabilities of
ubiquitous devices: (1) to provide a service channel for remote service
providers
through an "always on" connection, (2) to inform these services about
the local context of the user through an array of sensors, and (3) to
enable these services to affect things in the user environment through
actuators and local communication links. The new services enabled by
these capabilities will lead to a new era of ubiquitous commerce, and
change all business functions from customer relationship management to
enterprise and supply chain management
m-business at deutsche-bank: Strategie und lessons learned
Prof. Dr. Clemens Jochum, Deutsche Bank AG, Frankfurt
Seit Mitte 1999 verfolgt die Deutsche Bank mehrere Projekte im Bereich
M-Commerce. Hierzu gehoeren die Pilotierung und Umsetzung einer
WAP-basierten Banking- und Broking-Loesung, die Initiierung der
MoSign-Initiative (eine mobile Public-Key-Infrastructure (PKI) -Loesung
fuer die sichere Authentifizierung, sowie ein nicht unbetraechtliches
Engagement in Standardisierungsgremien, wie dem Mobey Forum und dem WAP
Forum.
Der Vortrag wird zunaechst die Ergebnisse dieser Aktivitaeten und
Projekte darstellen. In einem zweiten Schritt analysieren wir dann - auf
der Basis dieser Erfahrung - die kritischen Erfolgsfaktoren fuer den
M-Commerce:
* Welche Bedeutung haben Partnerschaften und Kooperationen
zwischen Banken und Mobilnetzbetreibern?
* Was ist der Stand der Sicherheit mobiler Transaktionen (Wireless
PKI, Smart-Card-Technologien, Die Rolle der Banken)?
* Was ist die "Killer Application" im M-Commerce?
* Welche Bedeutung haben Standardisierung und
Lobbyismus-Initiativen?
* Was sind realistische Visionen fuer den M-Commerce in der
Finanzwelt?
Microsoft in Mobility: .NET and Smart Mobile Devices

We will discuss the major hurdles faced by the industry in bringing
mobile solutions and services to market. We will then explore the
tactical, medium and long-term strategy Microsoft and it's partners are
taking to overcome these hurdles. To illustrate specific strategies, We
will demonstrate a variety of smart devices and solutions; both current
offerings on the market today, and future products and services.
