This is how Gauss version 0 worked (I think the current site is
version 4 or 5). The problem was then that it took about a day
to add a patent. OK. v0 was some perl code I had hacked together.
The tricky bit is to know which pages to update when a single
patent is added, because this is essentially all the index/search
result pages. But if all pages are cached, and with say a few
days of cache expiry, then that should work.
